Env The Associated Student Government of San Mateo High School is composed of five officers, the president, vice-president, secretary, treasurer, and auditor. These students are elected by the student body at the end of each semester and assume their respective offices at the beginning of each new semester. lt is the job of the president to preside over all A. S. assemblies and business and Ex-board meetings. The viceepresident arranges all assemblies and presides over all business meetings when the president is absent. The secretary records the minutes of all A.S., Ex-board, and business meetings. The secretary also takes care of all A. S. correspondence. lt is the job of the treasurer to keep track of all A. S. funds, and to help promote money making activities. The auditor Works with the financial faculty advisor to see that the financial books are kept in order. One of the many duties of the president is to appoint, with the approval of Ex-board, a group of commissioners. These students work along with the officers to promote school activities. Bob Pforsich. go.. The Associated Student Body commissioners, appointed by the president and approved by Ex-board, are the cabinet of the high school's government. They hold office for one semester, and work side by side with the elected officers and representatives in carrying out their duties. They co-ordinate the activities of the various groups and classes and execute any responsibilities given to them by the president. Following the revision of the A. S. Constitution last spring, the sixteen coni- missioners now listed are the Dance, Rally, Girls' Athletics, Boys' Athletics, Grounds, Traffic, Yearbook, Publicity, Drama, Music, Freshmen Boys', Fresh- men Girlsf Radio, Co-op, and Cafeteria. A parliamentarian is also appointed to serve during meetings of Ex-board.
