As such, it has become a part of school life at San Mateo High School. I have had an opportunity to see the advance sheets, and I wish to compliment Mrs. Mitchell, the staff, and all students who have helped to make the Elm of this ycar an outstanding number in that long series which goes back more than thirty years at San Mateo. FRANCIS J. MCCONVILLE PRINCIPAL During this past year, I had :pgortunity to meet and greet many of the students of the San Mateo High School. The friendly attitude of all has helped to make work more pleasant and more worthwhile. As the seniors go forth on their various paths and the others continue their school work, that same San Mateo friendliness will, I feel sure, spread out and help bring about stronger loyalties, and greater suc- cess and happiness in both work and, play.
