60 TRACK Seniors - With a convincing win over Arroyo Grande early in the season, the track team seemed to be on the way. The JV teams sported numerous sophomores, and even the varsity squads attracted new talent. Though some of the teams lacked depth inthe distance events, most of them were well balanced. One ofthe strongest aspects tor all the teams was in the sprints, thanks to runners like Barrett Gee, Sabrina l-loltord, Deana Ross, and Jett Deitz, all seniors. Tough challenges Key would come from the cross town schools, but the Royals believed that they would become the Channel League champions Spirit within the track group was espe- cially strong this year. One member, Lau- rie Carroll, who was out with an injury summed it up with lt really hurts not to be running. 4- 2 -r at L4
