The Royals opened the CIF playoffs with a close and exciting overtime victory defeating Chan- nel lslands 64-62. Unfortunately, they fell in round two to Bighetti High School 60- 45. First team, all league honors were, for the second time, bestowed on Cindy Bat- tistone. Also honored were co-captain Janet Capovilla 42nd teamj, co-captain Suzanne Willie Qhonorable mentionb, and most improved player Karen Michaels Chonorable mentionj. Upon graduating, the varsity team's seven seniors opened up a fine challenge for JV members to fill the vacancies. The JV's finished the season with a 1-8 sea- son record and should do very well on Varsity next year. GIRLS' BASKETBALL 39
