Although the girls' team did not do L quite as well as the boys', experiencing two wins out ot tive meets, they were a closer-knit group than the boys'. Karen Uphoft, the team's captain, ran the quick est time. The fastest sophomore was Kathy Clarke, who began the season in junior varsity and then moved up to var- sity. Sharon Pritchard was noted as the most improved runner on the girls' cross country team. Both the girls' and the boys' cross country teams showed good spirit, and there was a lot of support from the San L0 Marcos staff. The final result ot the sea- son was a fourth place in the league.
