Sophs Top Dons And D. P. The Sophomores played really hard this year, they deserved to win more than they did. Ouoted from one student, this described the Sophomore football team. With coaches Hal Kil- minster and Harvey Campbell and assistance by John Knapp and Steve Puailoa, the team benefited from excellent leadership. However the team had a season of dramatic highs and disappointing lows. They were hit by many problems right from the start. injuries to Jeff Barens and Bard Sal- cido placed the burden of signal call- ing on Kevin Todd, in the later part of the season. With outstanding help from players like Mark Mester, the Royals had decisive wins against Oxnard, Dos Pueblos and Santa Bar- bara. ln these games they played well and had fantastic victories.
