A New Beginning Three years of high school just passed. Now, standing at the final high school gathering awaiting your diploma, you think back upon your three years. At this time the years you spent in high school seem as though they passed quickly, when in the middle of high school, the years hung on. You have now come to the end of required education. Gradua- tion has finally arrived. VVasn't it you who couldn't wait? Maybe you've now discov- ered that you are not at an end, you are at a beginning. A beginning of responsi- bility, independence, and a certain kind of freedom, the freedom of self-decision. The world is yours now, so grab it by the tail if you can. lsn't this the moment you waited so long for? The decisions are all yours now. You know what your plans from here are, right? Suddenly you pause to think - maybe you're not as ready as you thought you were. Of course you're ready, you're graduating, aren't you? But you probably feel unsure about yourself. You thought you'd love a life without par- ents, no restrictions, just a life of your own. Now you realize how much your parents mean to you. You know how proud they are of you, and that they'lll always be there to help you when you need it. But at this time maybe you feel that you shouldn't ask. This is your life now. Time to help yourself. This is gradu- ation, your beginning. 12 THEME
