Academics

Page 136 text:

Each tall the ritual begins anew. September means new courses, new faces, new concepts, and new chal- lenges. This holds true forthe students as well as the teachers. As the year begins, the majority of the students turn their attention toward mastering these concepts and conquering these challenges. Granted, academics may not always be in the limelight, but they are the main purpose of schools. Any extra- curricular activity is just that - extrag the icing on the cake. So just as fall is the new beginning tor each school year, so is school the beginning oi our futures. It is where we start preparing for our careers, and where we start developing our interests. .l k,.?, if 'Wig ,9,'Z '5F 5 a iw ' t wa? 1 -Wf -8 WM ,f' in-4' - f :V Tx Wt M fd'-4' Q ' wlrifp 4 .av f Xl 2. .- - -f x .. .Laid

Class 0f '80 Tops Record This year's Senior Class was well organized due to the leadership of class president Adrian Tartier. Senior class vice-president Linus Huffman, treasurer Robin Ziegler, and secretary Lucia Wallis also helped to make 1980 a memorable one for graduates. The officers' main responsibility was organizing fund raisers to pay for Senior Week activities. The most successful money raiser was the annual magazine sales drive. The seniors participated so enthusiastically that the Class of 1980 netted more money than any class in the school's history. The money collected went toward such activi- ties as the annual Grad Night at Dis- neyland. The main goal set by the officers was to make Senior Week exciting for all graduates.
