Without an official team, the club was also unable to participate in many com petitions. Cheryl Sanchez, however, took part in a county-wide contest where she won second place. 10' -41 ' Q, K. 7, , K' i l O get

Bike Club Shifts Gears The Bike Club had many long distance trips, several of them up San Marcos Pass to Solvang. Even though there were just a few participants, they had fun. This year the club drove to Nojoqui Falls and cycled 100 miles on a loop course called the Century Trip. On all their trips they started early Saturday mornings, meeting at various places and putting in a hard day's ride. Much to the disappointment of President Jay Farbman, many of the peo- ple who signed up for the club did not participate in the rides. However, those who did showed enthusiasm, and they enjoyed themselves. No Horsing Around One of the more active organizations was the Equestrian Club. Led by advisor Hal Kilminster, the equestrians went to Santa Anita to learn about thoroughbred training and racing, went on an overnight to White Oaks, and worked with other rid- ing clubs to put on horse shows. The club also sponsored the Last Chance Dance, and to top it oft, produced the famous fudge sundaes at the Homecom- ing Carnival. BIKE CLUBXEOUESTRIAN CLUB 123
