Performers To Remember This year's Marquettes were more than active. Lead by captain Chris Young, the Marguettes performed many halftime shows, much to the delight of the football crowds. The themes for these shows ranged from the 1980 Olympics to Super- man. At the Santa Barbara-San Marcos football game, the Marquettes, along with the band, paid special tribute to retiring coach Sut Puailoa. As the season for football ended, the Marquettes went on tour. They participated in the Christmas and Easter parades along with the Labor Day parade in the summer. The glamorous reputation that the Mar- quettes hold can only be attributed to the long, hard hours spent by each and every member practicing and perfecting all the steps in the dance routines.
