The group, directed by Todd Davidson, performed at away football games, basketball games, and pep rallies throughout the year. They had many interesting times together, including their various renditions of the National Anthem and the time they were forced to break into the locked bandroom to put their instruments away. if arquettes ln the tradition ofthe Marquette organization, the 1979 group spent countless hours practising to perfect the numbers for halftime shows. The girls were led by Captain Julie Rose and Advisor Jeanne Gemmell who together provided the leadership. Orchestra Orchestra was composed this year of an enthusiastic group of musicians, directed by Mr. Jim Geell. Their devotion was evident by their willingness to meet at 7:15 every morning, Monday through Friday. The results of their labor were evident in their excellent performances throughout the year. The Band competed among one hundred and seven high school bands and was among the eight who received three superior,' ratings. In addition, performances at the Dos Pueblos Festival and Royal Blue Revue highlighted the year for the talented instrumentalists.
