V. team at Florence. We were defeated 37-20. On October 4 the Miners left for Casa Grande to play the Kittens, picking up a win---score 27-14. The following Saturday, the Miners Played the Superior I. V. team and won with a score 36 -7. Another defeat was handed out by the Tucson J. V. Team on October 15---Score 26 -6. Wilcox handed out the lastdefeat to rack up another touchdown before the final whistle. The Miners rallied and, on November 11, rolled off yardage at will in defeating Flowing Wells 19-7. The closing game of the season took place at Sunnyside, The Miners gained 501 yard in that game and won with a score of 39-13. 56

During his six years as a coach, he has compileda record of 22 wins and 16 losses. He had the State Champions at Douglas in 1952. He also coached at Thather for one year and is currently here at San Manuel High School. He received his B. A. Degree at Arizona State College at Tempe and his M. A.
