Us-4 . Cali ornia Scholarship Federation 4f1W' ,ff Sealbearers - FIRST ROW: Ieanne Klaucke, Kathy Davis, Terri Liebscher, Meiko Iwao, Iudy Meyer, Ianet Wadstrup, Karen Siegel, Susan Thrasher, Vickie Rice. SECOND BOW: Gerald Bucy, Lee Hollister, lim Maino, Penny McKellar. FOURTH ROW: Wendy Graham, Bob Heathcock, Charles French, Iim Lonborq, Mike Fisher. Chapter l9 of the California Scholarship Federation is one aspect of our school of which we can be justly proud. The high ideals and standards instill an inspira- tion for betterment in the students. The purpose of the CSF, to provide a reward and feeling of achievement for academic work, is in itself worthy of admiration. One reward is the pin and seal of a Sealbearer. These designate the outstanding students and indicate their potential for success in later life. A record num- ber of eighteen seniors received their pins at the Seal- bearer Banquet held on the twenty-ninth of February. The activities of CSF are not completely academic. Through such events as the swim-picnic and barbeque, members help to disprove the common belief that just because a person is intelligent, he is unable to enjoy himself. Members of CSF are also encouraged to take part in extra-curricular activities in order to develop the leadership needed in the future. The combination of academic excellence and success in outside activities proves the abilities of the students. This is important for it is from these young people that the statesmen and leaders of tomorrow will emerge. ll I if 151111-.. ,,...-aw 'n'e:,, , ,,,. T. - -',f, ..'n1f 'Hh.
