RebelS Attend Rally pirit ShirleS Bright Rebel Pride was in the all' as loyal ReDelS cheered alI'nOSf hOh'Sl'OD at the 29th Annual Omega Kick-off Rally where OUI' Val'Sll'y Song Squad COn'lDefed aQalhSl' fOUl'l'een schools fI'Oh7 all aI'OUnd the Bay Area. lt was very exciting and promoted entusiasm, a lot more people showed up this year and we have a great squad, stated Nicole Jones. The Varsity Song Squad practiced one month before Omega, working hard twelve hours each week. They were assisted on their l'OUfil'le by Elaine Rockowitz and Cathy and Christy Dezotte from Arroyo High School. They helped us sharpen up and got us organized, they in- spired us to try harder, commented Tina Rivera. When SLz was up, the song girls perfromed an almost perfect routine and ,-- A-5 f f ., ,f Nfw X X , were greeted by loud Cheel'S fI'Of'n the audience. The song Qll'lS were really Qfeafl They U It was very exciting and promoted entusiasm, a lot more people showed up this year and we have a great squad H really ln1DI'OVed a lOf since the HellO Rally, l'lOfed Kathy Rumball Affef' fOUl' hOUI'S, the COn'lDefll'lOh WaS OVeI' and the crowd waited for the WlhneI'S. lf seemed like we waited fOl' ever fOl' a winner. ljust wanted to collapse, COfnh7enfed Shenely Javier DUl'fhQ the wait, UOOI' prizes were given out and SLz Came outas the big Wlnhel'S. EI'iC Mitchell WOn a COITIDU' fel' and Stan Ng received a SfeI'eO. I CleSel'Ved to Win! I WOn l'nOI'e than the cheerlead- eI'S, replied Stan Ng. As the rally came to a ClOSe, the winners were ah' nounced, SIZ WOn second place fOI'SDiI'fl' and the song girls WOn third place but Clidn'f recieve a l'I'ODhy De' cause Ofa tie fOI' flI'Sf.
