It was cool! Exclaimed eighth grader, Erika Franco. Breaking tradition the Spirit Squad gave maroon and gold balloons to the football players instead of the traditional flo wers when they were introduced. I thought the balloons were more masculine, rather than the flowers, yet a can of beer would be better, commented James Love. The crowd was awes- truck as the Number One Rebel lMs. Kno wles in a blond fuzzy wig and cheerleading uniforml came bursting into the gym. Knowles had a lot of spirt to get dressed like that and run out in front of every one U Castile to take action, the songleaders finally perform- ed their fast paced dance routine. l thought it was a very good experience for the new people on the squad so they get a feeling of how it is to perform in front of a big group of people, and l know it was fun for all of us, stated LUCia Maramonte. As the rally came to an end the sounds of eighty- eight! Eighty-Nihe! Nihty- two! Ninty! and Ninty-one rumbled the gym, as the spirit squads conducted a yelling contest. The class of hihty-tWO with their spirited effort won and were dis- missed first, Some Seniors were angered by this, We have senior privi- ledges we should leave first! exclaimed Yolanda Chavez.
