One ITIOFG fiITI9...EiQl7t'i'l Qfade. When 10:25 Came and the doors to the WESt Gym opened, fhefe W6l'6 3 lot of unusual faces. Some faces contained a look of shock, some a look of ner- vousness, and some were just happy to see their friends. It was a lot of fun and whenl was walking to school I was nervous. I thought everybody wasn't going to be friendly, recalls BianCa Rodriguez. Student Body President Dwight Bailey and ViCe- President Erin Murphy were introduced to the newest members of the student body. The remainder of the student body officers were announced indivually. Katy Castile and Liz EdehS then performed a skit which was something brand new at the orientation rally. Varsi ty and J. V. Cheer worked on the young Rebels spirit and they definitely did their jOb well. Varsity and J. V. Song sparked eIeCtl'iCitVih the crowd with an awesome routine. lt was pretty cool because of the sexy legs of the cheerleaders, stated Alex Duran. To get to know the school 3 little bit, the eighth graders got a special tour of U It was a lot of fun and when I was walking to school I was nervous. I thought everybody wasn't going to be friendly U their new school. Since the school is bigger than their Old SChOOl 3 lOt of the eighth graders had trouble finding their classes. l'm gonna like this place. lt's a big school sta ted Emmanuel Fernandez, keeping a positive attitude. After the tour ended, lunch was ready for the hungry newcomers. They all went to the cafeteria to eat hot dogs, chips and a cold drink. To enetrtain the crowd members of Executive Coun- cil performed a traditional skit of the three bears. The difference between orientation and the first day can be overwhelming. At orientation, finding classes and places seemed so easy but on the first day you're on your own. The lockers were a major problem for many and most resorted to asking for help from the upper classmen. Afteralonghotsummen it was time to go back to school again. Some people were happy to see friends again and some just didn't feel like being at school After the whole day running to classes, it was finally time to go home but you didn't leave with out first remem- bering that you had to return again tommorro w.
