0 O MR. NELS B. NELSON O I '4 This year our senior students are graduating into a world that has also graduated. The people of our planet have entered into a technological age so changed that we can truly say-our world will never be the same again. As rin adult in this new period of time our young people will have to exert their utmost efforts to make decisions that are wise not only in a personal sense but also in regard to the future of our globe and the vast area around it. The commitments that our people will be called on to make in this rapidly changing world will require each individual to have an understanding of science. In a democracy, however, it is also vital that each person be informed regarding the human relations, the social adjustments, and the economic problems of our new age. Analysts in press, radio, and television will both confuse and clarify. It is the sacred duty of a citizen of a democratic nation to know and comprehend the affairs of the community, state, nation and world. It has been the earnest endeavor of each and every teacher and administrator at San Lorenzo High School to prepare our graduates to make the important decisions of this era with confidence, judgement, and knowledge.
