But Janie has never let her surplus of A's go to her head nor forgotten how to have fun. J Don Braden, captain of last year's football team, was always an inspiration to his teammates whether they Won or lost the game. Don possessed that remarkable ability to keep cool and collected against the roughest competition. 57 This year's best Thespian was Gail Ekstrom. Gail's vivacious stage personality added flavor to many of the school and class plays. She not only devoted time to actual play produc- tion but also spent many tedious hours doing work back stage. , Amid test tubes, Bunsen burners, and explosions, A Barbara Stover out-classed all of her bo co y mpetitors for this X' gf.. year's science award. The scientific lads gallantly subscribed to the f h act t at Barbara made the old lab a nice place to be. Fast thinking quick mov ing and hard driving gave Paul Shlelds tht basketball awlrd Paul has been active in basket ball for four years and IS known around the gym for his good sportsmanship Taking top honors in Girls Q Athletics Phyllis Carter spent most of her extra curricular time on first str1ng girl teams here at San Juan Aside from the active participation in sports she worked tirelessly for the Girls Block and G A A fi X . , . 0' if N2wi STEP El Ni. l 'IN'T 1 ' Q' -INT A . we x ymfeewzm f9z4.44dwzZ 3wwa9i5fw,afuz 'ar 15 ., x 5 's,,v,.
