As you look through this year's annual, you will often see the beaming face of Doris Graves, thespian, athlete, leader, and scholar delux. Taking an active part in all of our activities, Doris spent many hours on extra curricular work and then wandered home to do her homework. She must have done it very well, because she received the highest marks of any members of the grad- uating class. Congratulations to the '48 Valedictorian. Theresia Reimers, who has a continuous record of very high grades throughout her four years at San juan, receives one of the three scholarship awards. Besides her schol- astic record, Theresia has compiled an impres- sive array of dramatic accomplishment, both as an actress and as a student director. She has taken an active participation in all of the Thcspian and Honor Scholarship activities. body Pres' - dent spring SCU aids Paul Wham f e of our GW I - ' t 0 Oil ident, is the reclglenlfg sense of good Sports- hip. au . h years for leaderS d in his I fee manshiPv Perhaps lean: him a perfect ch01Ce fvarsity' athletic? ma e His 6XPeflence 3 0 en!S- v - res- ghe stu l unto! If an all-around award were given, Nancy Graham might easily be our choice. Nancy is the first girl in many years to walk off with the science award. Outdistancing her male competitors in both chemistry and physics, she also took four years of mathematics. Not content with one award, she took a scholarship award and one of the girls' athletic awards. Iii Charlie Duncan gets our first leadership award. His natural sense of humor and good judgement have made him a leader in all of his four years. Freshman class president, sophomore representative, commissioner of entertainment honor scholarship, student body president, and an active part in basket- ball and track for four years are but a few of his accomplishments.
