O MCCORMICK MISS V NORTON MOTTO Dont try dpmg but due trymg N SEPTEMBER I0th the largest Freshman class ever to enroll at San uan appeared We were qurte self confrdent In our great abrllty We forgot thrs however after a suflicrent amount of mllltary tramlng under the supervlslon of the Semors After a few hard knocks we were able to settle down to the regular routrne of work under a pleasant faculty At our hrst class meetmg we held our electron and settled down to busmess We decIded that we could do great thlngs through co operatron Soon after we prcked our motto and lIved up to It After a month of torture at the hands of the Semor Court came the much dreaded event the Freshman InItIatIon After that embarrassmg ordeal was over we danced and had refreshments and were really able to enjoy ourselves a lrttle As we were a very up and commg class we had to have money to carry on our actIvItIes We decxded to attempt somethmg that no other Freshman class had ever attempted a Freshman Nrght A commrttee was at once appomted to provlde entertam ment for the evenmg Three plays a Chmese tragedy Tra Cham a one act play portraymg beauty Confettl and a negro comedy slut were presented to the publrc on Y 5 Y '44 1 , 'S' 1 v . 4,',.
