GREEN I Q!Z!'O'l'ZS UR W T NIOONIVX NIRS I A BAR-XTINI umor Prom was even prettler than the Sophomore I-lop because the audltorlum was transformed mto a beautiful garden which looked so mvrtmg that a very large flock assembled there that evemng They exhibited thetr dramatlc talent durmg this year also ln a one act play called The Managers and entertamed therr audience further by their songs and dances They finished thus year by glvlng a great farewell banquet to the older Hawks and Crows who were about to leave thelr flock On a whole theirs was a very successful year In therr Senlor year however they showed the best that was ln them They were the leaders ln nearly every actrvrty ln their school Thelr Senior Ball was most beau trful They danced and chattered midst the Slflglhg of the Canaries who were the muslclans of the evenmg In that same year they took a leadmg part m an opera I shall never forget the beautiful songsters that I heard that mght Since they were now Senrors they gave a Qenlor play called The Arnval of Kltty but smce Kitty wasnt really a cat many brrds were there to enJoy the play and they all agreed that the flock of l930 had Improved a great deal ln dramatlcs as well as ln other flelds Before they recerved their diplomas for graduation they were given a banquet by the blrds they left behmd Although they enloyed themselves immensely they were a but sad at the thought of leavmg their fellow blrdlmgs and teachers whom they had learned to love dearly They left their dear San uan however wrth staunch hearts and each IS now ready to make a name for hlmself ln the world Thelr last year s success they owed to two wrse owls who helped them through thelr dnfftcultres and gave them much needed advrce They w ere called advlsors and they were Mrs Baratlnx and Mr Mooney Too much cannot be sand ln praise of what they drd to ralse thrs class to the hexghts whxch they fmally attarned Mr Robin paused cocklng hls head on the slde and obserwed hls attentive listeners Tlus rs the story of only one of the flocks of thrs beautrful school he concluded and a better school would be hard to flnd xn any part of this country All the blrds agreed wlth htm and decided to vlsrt this school some day themselves lx I I i .I . . . EEN XNCIQ NOTES I It STIX 4 I -KKK Tre ldent Il IUXI h Se let Senzor Class HERE was a great ado rn the forest The sunbeams danced among the trees as the sun rose ln the east The leaves rustled ln the breeze and the trees swayed gently to and fro Perched ln the trees were brrds of every kmd all twrttermg and talkmg at the same time whlle on a nearby tree was a robm slttrng by himself and facing the others The brrcls were holding a convention and Mr Robln was telling them about the people of hrs community In the valley where I spend most of my trme rs a beautiful school called San uan where many gurl brrds and boy blrds go to be educated under WISE owls or as they call them teachers I enyoy vrsrtmg thrs school because the gurls and boys are so pleasant and they do so many lnterestrng things Every year a new Hock of blrdlmgs enters this school I would like to tell you about one of these Hocks the flock of l93O Four years ago they entered thrs school as young and rnexperlenced Hedglmgs full of lrfe fluttermg here and there and becomlng acqualnted with this new place They were soon made to feel at home by the great Eagle Mr MCCOTmlCk Soon their spmts drooped however when the older Hawks and Crows pounced upon them ard carrred them off to a Freshmen Receptron as they called rt where the poor brrdlmgs were made to perform and amuse the older ones to therr satrsfactron When thls ordeal was over the Freshmen were accepted as true members of the can uan flock The next year after three months of play they returned to can uan as Sophomores Thrs year they went to work rn earnest to show the other brrds what they could do At 'ill Xthelr Qophomore Hop they entertarned delrghtfully by grvrng a dance and since rt was during the holiday season they had an opportunity of decorating rn the Christmas colors X th a huge Chrlstmas tree rn the center Many birds were there hopping and garly flut ng about The next year as umors they rmprowed rn many may Thcrr seco d dance the if .
