OUR CLASS HIS TORT 1963'J As San juan celebrates its fiftieth anniversary, we, the class of '63, are found to be in the spotlight as seniors . We began our climb in 1959 as a large class Our freshman officers, john Grant, john Devisseur, Connie Bruins, and Dick Taggart, managed to lead us through our first year without any major problems . In fact our freshman dance, Winter Fantasy, was a very big success. When we were sophomores, our class was split. Three hundred of our friends were bade good -by and wished good luck in their new school. As a result, our class was known as the smallest class in the school. But we proved our strength by keeping the rally trophy in our possession most of the time and by presenting Swing Into Spring, our class dance. Our faithful officers, Bob Cummins, Bob Shuman, Laurel Selfridge, and Terry Moorhead, worked many hours to make our class the best possible. With our junior year came shouts of triumph, for we were hailed as upperclassmen at last. We re- ceived our beautiful class rings proving we were near ing the top of our climb. Our junior officers, Mike Whisler, Dick Taggart, Carole Tait, and Vanda Aal- gaard, planned a wonderful year for us with Rhap- sody In Blue, our junior prom, and The Importance of Being Ernest, our junior play. Now, as seniors, we have finished climbing and stand on top. Ralph Craven, ,Laurel Selfridge, Gail Hayes, and Judy Lindbloom, have led us successfully through our senior year. We can now look back on the Senior Ball, the Senior Banquet, the crowded Sen- ior parking lot, the football and basketball games, and the wonderful Homecoming with Terry Moorhead as our queen, and Diane Carmassi as senior princess These are some of our memories, but each one of us can include many more. We have been prepared for our future lives, and now we must step out of the spot- light to render it to others . 8
