Q44 IIMMY MONICAL Leadership Award Iimmy was a leader in many ways. He could run like the wind and made a wonderful athlete. When he tried his hand at politics, he proved an excellent Class President and a capable Student Body President, He managed to squeeze in some studying 'along with his numerous other activities, and was even an Honor Scholarship member. And while he was so very popular with the girls, the boys thought the world of him, too. ' TERESSA ZANETTA Scholarship Award Teressa was so active in all school affairs that one would never have dreamed she was getting about the best grades in the class of '47, But her record as a lifetime member of the California Scholarship Federation ta phenomenal total of A's and B'sl proves that she really was. She even announces that studying didn't hurt her a single bit, and from all ap- pearances, she's right. LOUIS KOVANDA Science Award Louie shone brilliantly, not only in physics and chemistry, but also in all four years of mathematics. His experiments always seemed to come out just as he expected, and he usually came up first with the right answer in algebra, geometry, or trigonometry. A high point man where grades are concerned and a good all-round athlete, he proved that science too can be fun. LOYD KELLY Athletic Award Loyd received the sports award this year because he was our class' finest athlete and one of its best examples of sports- manship. He contends that basketball is his favorite sport. and he has made points for San Iuan during all of his four years in school, captaining 1947's 'A' squad. A three year track man and a first string halfback in the football lineup for 1946 and 1947, he was also an officer of his class and an honor student. lv-
