Rhodes, known fo sfudenfs of fhe Deafh Valley Wesf Coasf Nafure School as fhe singin', sfrum- min' Dus'I'y Rhodes, vacafed his posifion as professor of biology fo fill a posf af Long Beach Sfafe College where he is slafed fo become Dean of lnsfrucfion. He came fo San Jose as a faculfy member in I937. Dr. Rhodes served fhe college as a class adviser for eighf years, as chairman of fhe freshman camp commiffee, as chairman of fhe campus visifafion program for high school sfudenfs, as a member of 'ihe Sparfan Shop board, and as direcfor of summer school recreafion acfivifies.
