NURSING DEPARTMENT A new venture for the advancement of Nursing Education was launched this year after months of careful planning on the part of the Committee representing three hospitals-San Jose, O'C0nnor and Santa Clara County. For the first time, classwork formerly con- ducted in each hospital has been unified. Stu- dents commute to college for classes. A student nurse cleans an intravenous tubing in Cen- tral Service Department Lab., San Jose Hospital. The project, though young, is a growing one with an inspiring program in mind for the fu- ture. Congratulations are due the committee representing the local hospitals and to Dr. J. C. Elder, Dean of the Lower Divisionat this college, whose untiring efforts, interest and far-reaching vision made the establishment of this new de- partment possible.
