Other projects dealing with plants and seeds provide added knowledge and experimen- tation in agricultural work, During shop time problems confronting the individual are discussed and solved. Various types of farm projects using wood and metal are constructed. The repair of machinery and equipment is also used for train- ing purposes. Students have numerous prob- lems confronting them with the dents and bends that accidents cause, thereby giving them much actual trade experience in thc complete repair of damaged automobiles. With automobile registration and accidents increasing rapidly, . this trade has wonderful oppor- tunities for employment as an employee and future employer. Occasionally furniture refinishing projects are used for training in spray gun work and the use of the many different materials. Placement of apprentices in the trade is far below the oppor- tunities. VVe also have a blower system, and a large well-stoc-ked tool room built by the students. Some of the big jobs in the shop are fifty showeases for the County Fair, and four ehests. Welding is a fast growing trade and consists of the fusion of steel, brass, copper, alumi- num, cast iron and different kinds of special metals. In tire and battery work, all kinds of repairs are made on tires and batteries.
