BOYS' AND GIRIS' The girls of San Jose High School have been very acfive This year. One of fheir services for +he communi+y was +heir fine work on +he March of Dimes drive. San Jose High's girls have made a grear many pairs of slippers and also many hor wafer bo'I'+le covers for fhe use of hos- piialized service men. Mary Kaihryn in- augurafed a sysfem whereby every girl was given an opporruniiy +o sign up for Red Cross work. Mosi' girls gave a+ leasl' an hour a week. Ofher Girls' League aciiviiies included 'rhe usual charming fashion shows, 'fun-packed iinxes, sedafe senior feas, and in+eres+ing meeiings. This year's Girls' League, guided by ihe willing assisfance of Miss O'Neil, has had a very successfui year. Tom's cabinei consis+ed of Chuck Chris- fian, vice presidenf and Jim Fenion, sec- rerary. Cyril was aided by Harry Forbes, vice president Ken Rossi, 'rreasurerg Elmo Ferrari, secre+ary. The Boys' League had several very fine programs. The big evenl' of bofh semesfers was Boys' Nighf, when 'ihe boys and 'I'heir dads enioyed an evening of boxing, wres+ling, and en+er+ainmen+. Wifh Bud Seeburger as chairman, a Boys' Welfare Commi'H'ee was organized for 'Phe pur- pose o'f keeping fhe school grounds clean. 18 HSA GUES The fall Boys' and Girls' Leagues worked under Their leaders, Tom Fama and Berry Louihan. ln 'I'he spring 'ihey were led by +he equally 'fine prexies, Cyril Giammona and Mary Kafhryn Kelley. Working wifh Be'Hy and Mary Kaihryn were 'Their re- specfive cabine+s: vice president Jane Fairfield: secreiary, Mary Kafhryn Kelly: freasurer, Meli+a Hall: vice preside-nf, Frances Sfevensg secrefary, Audrey Vick- ery: freasurer, Laura Mason. Various commiifees also made ihe Girls' League a successful organiza+ion.

ParTicularly ouTsTanding was The A Cap- pella 'Choir FesTival, which included The choirs from 'Five diFFerenT high schools and was The San Jose High School ChrisTmas giTT To The communiTy. In This TenTh annual musical program, The San Jose High School A Cappella Choir, un- der The excelleni' direcTion of Miss Char- loTTe Morley, sang Men and Angels Sing Halleluiah by John and T. D. Ed- wards, and l Hear Along Our STreeT arranged by Maclcinnon. The choir also sang several beauTiTul ChrisTmas carols wiTh The combined choirs of The Tive schools. 19
