Long sfanding for friendly rivalry and co- operaTion wiTh Lincoln, Mariiane saw in The San Jose High-Lincoln Armisfice Day Game and in The ioinT dance culminaTing The Bond Drive The realizaTion of one of her greaTesT hopes. Under her leadership The greaf 4Th War Loan Drive was organ- ized and High once again proved iTs abil- iTy To go all ouT for a mosT imporTanf proiecf. Before her elecTion Mariiane was well known for her acTive parTicipaTion in many school affairs, and during her Term of office she also served as Senior EdiTor of The Bell, was concerf misfress in The orchesfra, and played The parf of AnToineTTe in The fall senior play, The FighTing Li'H'les. To Take over sTudenT affairs for The spring semesTer, Dave Saunders sTepped direcTly from The vice-presidency To his posiTion as newly elecTed presidenT. During his Term of office The new Monday- Wednesday-Thursday Reg. sysTem and plans for Thursday assemblies were carried inTo eTFecT. Through more and peppier assemblies and The issuing of advance informafion, Dave sTrove To bring greaTer recogniTion To The minor sporTs, and by careful planning he was able To obTain more enTerTainmenT for sTudenT assemblies. Full of spiriT and enThusiasm, Dave served as general acTiviTies commissioner before his elecTion as vice presidenT and was very acfive on The Traclc Team. Known around school as a good Joe, Dave is a life member of CSF, and also holds membership in Crown and Shield, Block SJ, Excalibur Service Club, and The Boys' Quarfef.
