Through his pafienl' undersfanding, Mr. Deni- has become a regular fella among high school boys. The success of Crown and Shield, Lower Assembly, Boys' League, and S1'uden'l' Courf is largely due 'ro his guiding hand. Planning fhe schedule for approximaiely 400 daily classes is only one of fhe many jobs capably handled by Mr. Shipp. His dufies in guidance and curriculum are always carried on wifh a maximum of efficiency. The office secrefaries, who gain li'H'le recognifion, are largely responsible for fhe close coordinafion among counselors, deans, and sfudenfs. Miss Roose, Miss Reiff, Miss Pelligrini, Mrs. Flores, and Mrs. Wald- rop cheerfully bear a fhousancl burdens. Behind fhe pleasanf voice you hear as you pick up a school felephone are experienced sfudenfs who donafe 'I'heir sfudy periods fo serve us. These girls are generally chosen from fhe commercial deparfmenf and are given fraining by Miss Roose. Our P.B.X. board wifh ifs lines and exfensions is kepf humming from 7:30 a.m. +ilI 5:00 p.m. wi'I'h more fhan 500 calls daily. High's morning paper is fhe Daily Bullefin which gives all fhe imporfanf announcemenfs and acfivifies for fhe day. To keep fhe school well informed l45 copies are mimeographed each day by sfudenfs who find fhis fype of office work helpful in locafing iobs affer fheir graduafion. ADMINISTRATION Everyone of us who has been abseni or lafe has had ihe experience of going ihrough lhe efficienl' office of Mrs. Croney. Hundreds pass fhrough her office each day, and Mrs. Croney is ably assisied by s+uden+ girls who keep a record of every s+uclen+'s aH'endance. Aiding siudenfs in finding books, checking fines, repairing books and magazines are all in a day's work for 'lhose girls who are chosen +o work in 'l'he school library. The Boys' League packed up Thanksgiving baskefs and sponsored a Pafriofic Day in 'rhe spring. The council, headed by John Amaral, was very aler'l'. A par1'y called 'l'he Junior Jig was held, and, working iogelher wiih fhe low iuniors, 'lhe class helped make Spring Fan+asy, 'l'he junior prom, a greaf success. Miss Bruch and Mr. Threlfall were council advisers. Oulsfanding slu- denis were: Ted Ellis, Bud Truro, Bernice Norris, Carmella Garafola, and John Amaral. 28 SPRING '43 The low iunior class has been fairly aciive in school life. The council, headed by Sfanley Murphy and BeHy Loufhan, was unusually aciive. Aware of presenl' condiiions, +hey held a +in-foil drive which was very successful. Mr. Hun1'er and Mr. Threlfall were 'rhe advisers of +his ambi- +ious group.
