Training in correct diction and speech is offered the ineinhers of the Pulwlic Speaking Cluh. CLUB F Wheii the telephone system became centralized by the installation of a switchboard in the main office in the fall of 1938, the opportunity for gaining valuable experience was presented to the students of the school, who acted as switchboard operators. Under the direction of Mr. C. H. Shreve, the Science Club has completed a busy year of study in the various fields of science. Trips were made to the Canning and Freezing plant and the Sunlite Bakery in San jose, as well as to the University of California and other places of interest in the Bay region, All students who have had one year of science are eligible for membership. Duane Heath was fall president of the club. Barbara Fuller presided in the spring. A Science Club was also organized during club period this year under the direction of Mr. Shreve.
