circle k The Circle K is a branch of the Kiwanis Club and is sponsored by the Westside Kiwanis of San Jose. The Circle K is an International Organization which acts as a service club on campus. During the past year the organization has put on the Winter Formal Cable Car Classic, sponsored a candidate for Homecoming, participated in the Homecoming carnival and helped on many other college activities. REPRESENTATIVE. campus y Campus Y, affiliated with YMCA and YWCA, is open to all students on campus. The club promotes a number of activities throughout the school year for the education and entertainment of its members. This year, the club sent two representatives to Asilomar for four days of educational seminars on current topics; made a trip to McKinnon School for retarded children, sponsored a guest speaker on '.'World-wide Y Movement, and sponsored a movie for the college on placing foreign students in American colleges. AWS is interested in promoting fellowship among San Jose City College women, sponsoring social affairs, and opening opportunities to coeds to be leaders in campus life. This year the club sponsored such activities as: The Christmas Tea, Women's Fall Social, AWS fall fashion show and hostessing the Alta California Conference held at S.J.C.C. campus. sigma eta toeta Sigma Eta Beta, cosmetology club, whose name means skilled hands of beauty, have been responsible for many activities such as: cheering the children in a tuberculosis ward at the Santa Clara County Hospital and collecting books and small items to make the children .more comfortable. The girls held an installation dinner and sponsored a candy sale on campus. The proceeds went for baskets for the needy on Thanksgiving Day. A contest is held yearly in which members compete for awards in hair cutting and styling. delta nu Membership in Delta Nu is open to students enrolled in the dental assistants program and students preparing to enroll in the program. The purposes of the club are to promote dental health education on campus and to render service in the activities for the benefit of the student body. JUDY LANNIN, DONNA ROTOLO, JUNNEIL LEWIS. JANE DELAP. medical club The Medical Assisting Club is open to students in the medical assisting program, which prepares students to enter the field of aiding medical men. In addition to such training, the club also sponsors socials, trips, and speakers, who talk on how to achieve the medical goal.
