Mr. A.J Payne was elected President, Mrs. Nora Warren QManningQ Vice President, and C. T. White, Secretary. Other members present were H.M. Stanley and H. P. Sewell. On August 6, of this same year, Mr. Payne moved to Texas and tendered his resignation, which was accepted. On the same date, A. F. Flint was appointed to take his place. In 1949, Mr. Clifton Brown was elected to the board, and served for better than two years. When he moved to Colorado, Mr. H. L. Phillips was appointed to his place in May, 1951 Mr. H. N. Stanley was elected President of the school board after the 1949 election, since Mrs. Manning was not a candidate for re-election. He has served in this capacity since that date. The school board membership has remained the same since the appointment of Mr. Phillips, who was re -elected, in Febru- ary, 1955. The complete membership as of May, 1955, is pictured as follows: MR.
