To give the football men moral support during the games, the Club organized a cheering section ol three hundred boys, giving each a brown and gold megaphone. It further helped yelling by providing the yell leaders with gold satin blouses. Ending the season, it awarded gold Footballs to San Jacinto's Hll-City boys. Supplying the boxes and baslzets, they helped the Girls' Booster Club with its Thanlzsgiving food lor the poor. They also assisted in the Hawthorne Christmas Party lor underprivileged children. Hs usual, they sent flowers to ill members ol the faculty and the student body. The big event of the year, however, was the Vod'vil, Follies '37, which, true to all expectations, was the greatest musical extravaganza ever to be held in San Jacinto. It drew a lull and pleased house. The dance lollow- ing, needless to say, was the highlight ol the year. On march 26, they held the San Jacinto Relays, an event noted over the state for giving the best traclz medals in the state. Three successful productions sponsored by the Club, namely, the Flpril Foolies, an all boy show and the comic relief of the season, and two dances, the Barn Dance following the Foolies and the UJiId west Stampede, added considerably to the football boys' summer camp fund. Before school started, the luclzy candidates were sent to summer camp to become acquainted and conditioned. mr. madden was very pleased with the results of the camp. He hopes to be able to send the '38 team there. ln their first game, the inexperienced Bears suffered defeat from the mighty Corpus Christi team, but came bacle in the next to hold Beaumont to a scoreless tie. Their very next game, they liclzed San Hntone Tech 29-O. ln our own clistrict, the boys started off by salting away milby and Sam Houston with the score of 27-O in both games. l.Ue showed Lamar our power on a wet field to the tune of Q5-0. The score was Q0-6. The Bears, with revenge in their eyes, steamrolled the Hustin mustangs with the top-heavy score of 33-O. Davis again brought us down to earth with a hard fought 6-6 draw. Then came the game of all games, our annual grudge battle with John Reagan. The Bulldogs weren't a bit happy about the whole affair when they had to go home on the wrong end ofa 12-O score. when the smolze of the battle cleared, we were city-co-champions with Davis. l.Ue offered to play a final game with Davis to determine the true champion but we were refused, so another good season was closed and another trophy was put into our case. Queen Rnne skipping mrs. mc's fourth period to get revenge on Red-so-Red. Rnd whom does she see? Uncle Elmer, the Vulture. Rnne is caught skipping.
