e Class of ' 83 is a rowdy and spirited group of people from junior highs. They came from Serrano, Curtis, Prep High, Golden Valley. Del Vaiejo. Arrowview, and Shanndin Hills. Most of the students came from Serrano and Curtis. The freshmen have the largest class on campus with 675 students. Tht; election of the class officers was the first major event of the yciir. The candidates for freshman officers were: President — Sandra Dutched, Toby Huff Vice ' President — Anna Hernande ., Teri Young Secretary — Cindy Bankler. Lorrie Chaney, Debbi ' Sealey ■easurer — Judy Asay The winners were Sandra Dutched, Anna ernandez. Cindy Bankler, and Judy Asay. The officers planned many activ es for the freshman class. First of these acti ities was building a float for rour Homecoming. Our float was a rainbow with a JFput of gold at the end nl it. It was built at Andy Sheafs house. Our seccmd bij accomplishment was winning the pumpkin carving contest on I.C.C. day. Since then we have sold Christmas candles, desk caddies, picture frames, and candy. This was to raise oney for the freshman [vip which took place at th nd of the year. During the year freshmen competed in many ports such as football, volleyball, tennis, basketb wrestling, baseball, vvaterpolo, track, gymnastics, swimming and softball. Our class also had people in the band, Leadershii). and clubs. At the beginning of the year the freshmen weren ' t ' ;:Very spirited at the Pf;p assemblies or during class competition eveftls. They are: head, Debbiel Dowell; co-head, Momi Takahara; Heather Schulte Cindy Bankler, Patricia Martinez, and Kim Hayes, On April Fool ' s day we had an I.C.C. Day. The freshmen had a bake sale. As the first I.C.C. Day, it was a lot of fun. We ended our first year of high sckool satisfied with our accomplishments.
