Maria Shellhart Susan Sherin Elizabeth Silua seniors race Zooming down the track at a speed of 80 m.p.h. is senior Scott St. Peter. Scott has been cart racing for the past two years and maintains a good track record that keeps up with veterans of the sport. He trains and races dur- ing weekends in Riverside. All engine work is done by Scott, who is presently working in a body shop. Cart racing is an expensive sport. So far, Scott has invested two thousand dollars. He is planning on attending a professional racing school this summer for four months at a cost of about five hundred dollars a month. Cart racing is a scale down version of for- mula one racing, but just as professional. In fact, most professional formula one racers start out in cart racing. Scott hopes to start GT rac- ing after college on weekends, and eventually his goal is to become a professional formula one racer. SENIORS 27
