She has been a member for two years now, and she thinks the time spent with the orchestra is worthwile. You get to meet people from all over Los Angeles, says Anna. We share the same talents and interests in music, so we get along and communicate easily. Rehearsals, Tuesday evenings at Blair High School, are rigorous and last for three and a half hours each. They help her and the other musicians perform four times a year. While about thirty percent of the students in- volved with the orchestra are considering music as a profession, Anna is not, she is planning to minor in music in college. She believes that playing in the Pasadena Young Musicians' Orchestra provides her with the valuable experience of learning in an at- mosphere different from that of private lessons.
