alziofz GLORIA LEE CLAUDE RAFFIN i Student Co director Student Co-director Colonel Purdy explains Plan B to Captain Fisby and Sakini For two nights in March, San Gabriel High School became Japanese. No one who attended the i960 Senior Class Play, Teahouse of the August Moon, will soon forget it. The actors and those behind the scenes have the satis- faction of knowing that a record number of people attended the perform- ances. Although it was well known that the interpreter, Sakini, was really John Betinis, many had to check their programs again when he shuffled onto the stage. The American officers, Colonel Purdy lSteve Kochl, Captain Fisby lDennis Hoffl, Sergeant Gregovich lMike lmhoffl, anal Captain McLean lBruce Quillenl, were a humorous contrast to the relatively easy-going Tobiki villagers. Linola Levering and Terree Hammontree as Lotus Blossom, and Melinda Smith and Carolyn Bradley as Miss Higa .liga also gave most out- standing performances. Only the cast, production directors and crews will ever know lust how much work went on behind the scenes, but the pro- duction which was presented was one of which we all can be very proud. The cost takes their well-deserved bows after o successful show.
