The professional and academic advancemenl' of +he 'faculfy loward higher degrees and higher slalus 'lhrough graduaie sfudy, +ravel and publicalion has been parlicu- larly no+able. The College is honored by +he promolion of Dr. Rypins +o be head of lhe Deparfmenf of English a+ Brooklyn College and Mr. Gis+ 'lo be president of Hum- boldr Sfale Teachers' College. The new wing on Anderson Hall 'lo house Physics and Chemislry and fhe approval of +he plans for +he deliberale and carefully sludied developmenl of ihe main college hall are impor+an+ sleps in fhe building of +he 'fulure college. New refaining walls will add beau'l'y and space fo fhe play fields and carry 'Forward ihe program of physical educalion and recrealion. This year will be remembered for fhe iniliafion and progress of beHer relalions wi+h ofher educafional ins+i'I'ufions, especially wifh 'lhe high schools of San Francisco and 'rhe bay regions, wilh 'Ihe iunior colleges and wilh 'lhe voca'l'ional and lechnical colleges. The immediafe fulure is brighl' wifh promise of greafer cooperafive de- velopmenl' of +he college as a parl of s+a+ewide general higher educalion under 'rhe leadership of fhe Universi+y and Superinfendenl' Kersey.
