THE FRANCISCAN 1- 1930 S we watched the great steam shovels level the old gray wall, uproot trees, and cut away grassy slopes, it was sometimes difficult to realize that each apparently destructive stroke of those mighty shovels was in reality purposefully directed and necessary for the realization of our present beautiful campus.
