Borio Coach Mike Cirino gfass gfisfory C39 The class of S'39 has left a fine record in scholarship, sportsmanship, and citizenship. A member of the class, Leonard Streva, had the distinction of being Student Body President. The class was also outstanding in social events. The Iunior-Senior Prom of Tune 3, 1938, with its lapanese garden setting, the first out- standing social event of the class, was the most elaborate prom ever given at San Fer- nando High School. Class Day was celebrated by a very clever assembly when the kelly green sweaters with the white emblems were introduced to the senior high. The annual interclass track meet was won for the fourth consecutive year by the class of S'39 on March 31. On May l7 and l8 the class presented a three-act play, Charm School, under the direction of Mrs. McFadden. Fifteen girls of the senior class had the honor of being chosen Athenae. Of the forty-eight members of the Letter- men's Club, twenty were members of the S'39 class. Fifteen of the eighteen Lettergirls were seniors. Among the ranks of Hi-Y were six senior boys. , The graduation exercises, held on Fraisher Field at sunset on lune 22, ended the high school career of the class of S'39. The class wishes to express its sincere appreciation to Mrs. B. C. Borio and Coach Mike Cirino for their untiring efforts in guiding us through our high school years.
