VIEE PHI EIPALS' EHEETI E5 OR the sunny weeks of vacation that loom ahead-greetings! For the months that have rolled by with their load of work and fun and growth in knowledge and strength, leit us all send up a thought of thankfulness and appreciation. All through the winter with its cold, and the cheery, bustling holidays into the mellow, gentle days that spring has brought this year with the burgeoning of leaf and blossom, boys and girls of San Fernando have for the most part led a serious, worthwhile life. They have been growing and developing into the young people of intent and purpose that the world needs and has come to lean upon more and more, young people whose high courage, clear heads and singing hearts will bear the burdens and solve the problems that beset on every side today. Long after graduation, I predict that many of the events which have seemed to be of such small moment at the time will be seen in their true light and significance as turning points in the thinking that sets the course upon which all the races of later years are run. Ideals, friendships, life's labor all date from such momentous trifles that often pass uuheeded at the time. Therefore it behooves each one here to turn philosopher now and then to see where the road traveled is taking him so as to change while there is yet time. From such stuff as you boys and girls of San Fernando have shown yourselves to be made of, again I send you greetings and good wishes. Your comradeship, your work and play with us oldsters have been a joy not often alloyed with any dross of failure on you part, and we salute you with all our hearts for what you are and will be. V' wat' Mauna Mooncsrfxx JANET IWARIE MOORMAN, I wish to congratulate the school on having such a fine annual as this, presented as the work of our own students. I also wish to compliment the editorial staff of the Orange Blossom, in- cluding its sponsor, Mrs. Bryant, on the editing, preparing, and arranging the material for this bigger and better annual, and also for so successfully accomplishing the arduous task under- taken. Tin' Ormzgff Blossom is a very valuable asset to the school as a record of history. Many occasions arise on which it is necessary to refer to facts concerning the school and we find these facts easily accessible in Tfn' Orange Iilorsom. ROBERT L. FRAISIIIQR. l Ronekt' L. S ln a discussion of students, followi g the broadcast. various opinions were expressed regarding this uncertainty of the future. It was agreed that there are at least two things of which we can be certain: Clj VVe must preserve and perfect our demociwicy because up to the present time no other government has yet been found to give as much frfdom aw liberty to all and espef'i11!!y nlfo-zu riylzlx 111111 jv'i1iiIf'gr's to the minority. ln some European countries vhere there are new experiments going on, the minority has no rightsg in fact personal rights fire no -existent because those belonging to the minority are in concentration camps in exile, or are ertcuted.
