Davidson Superintendent HIGH SCHOOL TODAY To provide our young high school people with opportunity to study those fundamentals of lan- guage, math, science and history so essential to every American re- mains the basic task of the public high school. Since many of our young people terminate formal edu- cation at this level, the task is im- portantg and since greater numbers are continuing their formal educa- tion, these essentials must be devel- oped to the fullest, for these are the foundations for future leaders in business, industry, the professions, politics, and other aspects of our national life. The Class of 1958 goes out into the world with one of the greatest privileges of freedom-the right to make choices.
