After a five year absence at San Diego State University, the students of Jour- nalism 461 have worked together to create a realistic look at campus life. In HUMUNGUS weeve tried to capture activities, people. and the mood of State through hundreds of pictures in a book that is unlike any traditional yearbook before. In a school with a near enrollment of 31,700 students it was impossible to cover every event and every campus group-but we sincerely hOpe you find familiar memories recorded in your yearbook. : A donation from profits will be made to the American Cancer Society by the Humungus Staff. 1 . a- -.3 5', . o. , WWW -a v .4- 'SC vc, 'SC. A tough act to follow Aztec armchair QB'S were forced to crush many empty beer cans in the privacy of their own homes as the Aztecs were embarrassed on regional T.V. to the Spartans of San Jose. The rise and fall of the Aztec empire closed out with State losing to Herb Lusk of Long Beach in the seasonal finale. This is the way some people will remember the Aztec season. But then the memories ofeountless hours of tailgate parties and drinking in the stands will come back. The aerial show provided by Craig Penrose and Duke Ferguson and the defense play of Reggie Lewis and Mike Gilbert in the first seven games where the Aztecs went undefeated proved a powerful offense. San Diego State was really back this year play- ing in front ofthe largest crowds in Aztec history. l'I-I-TfFI'JHI J.-. u. If- WARNING: The Ivory Tower 15 about to collapse.
