Uncle Vanya October 26-28 Uncle Vonya, a play by Russian dramatist Anton Chekhov, concerns frustration and failure in the lives of a group of people who are unable to understand each other in their loneliness and isolation. Uncle Vunyo, played by graduate student Larry LEnk, and his niece, Sonya, played by Andrea Russell, have been managing a cauntry estate for Sonya's fath- er. Her father, Professor Serebriakov, played by Edward Woeten, returns to the estate with his beautiful, young second wife, Elena, played by Lisa Collins The professor immediatety antagonizes the house- hold by his irregular hours and his hypochondrio. Both the brother Vonya, and the inteHectual village doctor, Jack Winona, fall in love with the professor's young wife. Don W. Powell, associate professor of speech arts designed the fragment of realism setting.
