Sorry we forgot the fork, Mike. S.D.S.C. students overwhelmed leaders of the March of Dimes drive . . . many events highlighted the week devoted to the drive . . . Delta Sigs sponsored a pie throw as a me- morial to Kingston Robinson, former student, who died of polio. . .students bid S142 for the privilege of throwing pies in each other's face . . . Marlene Dawson and June Edwards, Alpha Chis, donated their services to the drive . . . a trophy was given to the Tekes for the high- est contribution to polio fund . . .the Teke bid of 343.25 was highest in pie-throw . . . victim was Mike Farrar . . . Delta Sigs brought Betty Hall Jones out for show . . . she raised S320 for the drive . . . the APO Vt!alk ot Dimes netted another SlOO . . . But I only have eyes for you . . . The March of Dimes drive was never like this! Study! Study! Always study! The total amount collected was more than Sl2OO . . . Sigma Chi, Delta Sig and SAE fraternity men combined in a Polio Parkway on Laurel Bridge . . . another SlOO was col- lected . . . The climax of the week was the Princess Ball . . . a twelve-year-old polio victim, Joanne Urnezis, was the Princess . . . a member of each sorority composed her court . . . the dance was held at Mission Beach Ballroom . . . couples attending do- donated S400 . . . finals finally ended . . . Blue Book Ball time . . . Roberta Linn was guest star . . . Jerry Schultz crowned Nancy Nelson Belle of the Ball . . . Delta Sigma Phis were proud of their third consecutive winner. 25

God bless us everyone, The traditional reading of A Christ- mas CaroI by Dickens was continued this year, but with a major change . . . unknown at the time, last year marked the final reading of the loved story by Dr. Lewis Lesley . . . E. Kingsley Poven- mire gave the reading this year in the name of his friend who began the tra- dition . . . two readings had to be given because of overflow crowds in the Little Theatre . . . the new interpretation by King Povenmire was greatly enjoyed by students . . . Christmas carols played on the chimes added to the festive spirit on campus . . . 1 TX l dreamed l went to a Blue Key auction minus my M ------ m B-a . . . lt's legal! They're married . . . Four down, three to go! Christmas spirit felt by all as vacation time drew close . . . some tests . . . Christmas carol- ing in the caf . . . guitar playing . . . party given by College Y the day before vacation began , . . everyone talking about their plans for the holidays . . . basketball fever . . . the Aztecs defending champs of the League . . . high-scorer Tony Pinkins big draw for games . . . tremendous crowds at the games . . . packed or turnaway at each home game . . . Blue Key auctioned off articles from the Lost and Found Jan. l2 . . . everything in clothing from lingerie to formals . . . sale held in the Main Quad . . . bidding fast and furious . . .
