Charlie Mclntyre took six out of seven events in gymnastics . . . compe- tition Dec, l4 was between pledge classes . . . the annual pledge chariot races . . . the Sigma Chi pledgepower was the best of the day . . . their can- didate, Donalda Beebe, was crowned queen of the day . . . l.F.C. sponsored the races . . . the SAE float was named best-appearing . . it was a free- tor-all at the Pi Kappa Alpha pie-eating contest afterward . . . more on the guys than in them, it seemed . . . Betty Hall Jones came down from Top's . . . the alumni-varsity game opened the S.D.S.C. basketball season . . . the varsity triumphed 83-59 over the All-Stars . . . near-capacity crowd in the Men's Gym . . . dinner before the play and a Skull and Dagger party afterward made lcebound a social event of fall semester . . . God bless us everyone, The traditional reading of A Christ- mas CaroI by Dickens was continued this year, but with a major change . . . unknown at the time, last year marked the final reading of the loved story by Dr. Lewis Lesley . . . E. Kingsley Poven- mire gave the reading this year in the name of his friend who began the tra- dition . . . two readings had to be given because of overflow crowds in the Little Theatre . . . the new interpretation by King Povenmire was greatly enjoyed by students . . . Christmas carols played on the chimes added to the festive spirit on campus . . . 1 TX l dreamed l went to a Blue Key auction minus my M ------ m B-a . . . lt's legal! They're married . . .
