IO-ll . . . learned what was what on campus . . . hanky-pank and swimming . . . Big Wheels on Campus introduced at assembly . . . Delicious breakfast of cold, greasy fried eggs . . . Square dancing at one o'clock in the Lodge . . . Entertainment by the Doppers . . . Counselors showing their age after sleepless nights . . . The honey- moon was over . . . REGISTRATION . . . Seniors trying frantically to make class reservations in Psych I, Speech 2, Freshman Composition . . . New system of registration speeded up the teejus process . . . With the help of friends, a soph registered, paid fees and reserved classes without appearing on campus . .' . 7

Fraternity rushing occupied the social cal- endar the first month of school . . . bidding in Scripps Cottage . . . the Sigma Alpha Epsi- lon pledge class of 55 largest in history of rushing at,S.D.S.C .... soon after, the 55 were wearing Bermudas on campus at the request of actives . . . they weren't alone, as many found them comfortable for school, casual and date wear . . . the knobby knees were a little hard to take at first . . . more people ran for office in the fall elections than ever before in S.D.S.C. history . . Q80 candi- dates for 22 offices . . . freshmen averaged five candidates per office . . . 9
