7l'e with a membership ot I00 boys, has proved itself one of the most active groups in the school. The cadets have served as guards at the football games, participated in parades and competitions throughout the year, and raised and lowered the flag daily. Twenty-eight cadets with outstanding records in ROTC ushered at the Harbor Bowl game and were especially commended 'For their fine work. All the cadets belong to the city-wide Cadet Club which presents the two military balls each year. 7he Rifle 7edm has been outstanding in the city this year. Having taken first place in the William Randolph Hearst and 6th Army Inter Collegiate Matches in competition with Kearny, Hoover, La Jolla, and Point Loma, the team promised to do well in this year's inter-school rifle competition. I 7he 0 c,leAt dA performances at the Homecoming assembly, Christmas Pageant, and spring concert were highlights of their year. The orchestra has about 40 members. . . P campuA capend' the I949 all-school show, arrived in March with a blaze ot cancan girls and clever staging. Starting in old time vaudeville style, the show swung into a sleek modern review, closing with a circus production number. Included in the show were dancing, singing, and acrobatic acts, instrumental numbers, and chorus lines, with a cast ot l50. gerkdelf Siquare was the dramatic fantasy presented by this year's senior class. The play cast a spell over the audience and lett the spectators wondering whether Peter Standish was just a dreamer or slightly insane. A deeply emotional story, the time shifted from the present day to I784 and back. The scene was London, England. 7he Stage crew was responsible 'for the sets used in all the school productions. These students set up and changed the scenery and stage props, regulated lighting, and were the men behind the show in general.
