'flue gm CHA tle 9 creators were faced with the problem of finding common ground between the comic book and ivy and rosebud factions warring within the senior class. The result is an annual which is guaranteed not to shock anyone's great grandmother, yet one which will never be mistaken for a pillow. The staff, headed by Betty Sherr and composed of section editors Ruth Davidson, faculty: .lenette Inglis, activi- ties: Marilyn Miller, clubs: Bob Pranger, sports: Roy Reed, seniors: and Harry Jacobson, literary: and the art class. headed by Marjorie Cyphert, hope you will like this solution to the problem. Wfe zlt parade faced only the problems of arousing the crea- tive instincts -of Hillers and then collecting a quarter from said Hillers to see their instincts in print. M US IlRtEght t 7,'e Siergednettad ot San Diego High School lent their tradi- tional note of sparkling pageantry to the majority of the Hilltop's grid encounters both at home and away. Led by Colonel Marietta Sauer, Major Jerry Puza, and the captains, the girls executed clever Irish, Indian, and assorted routines to the spirited cadences of the drum corps. Adding col-or were the band and drill majorettes, flag twirlers, and acrobats. Not a group which any red blooded Caveman would wish to see shelved at the close ot the pigslcin season, the high-stepping Cavebelles were called upon to add interest to the election campaigns and numerous community parades throughout the year. To top off their contributions to an appreciative Hilltop, the gals presented their traditionally spec- tacular Sergeanettes Ball in February to the strains ot Lavendar Blue. SERGEANETTES
