7lle genlond broke a San Diego tradition last fall, naming their sport dance an un-alliterative Autumn Serenade. Breaking another tradition, the dance actually broke even. Other memorable senior events were the revision of the class charter, Career Day, the get-togethers, the city-wide senior council, and of course the round of spring activities. The junio:-A dance simply Snowland Fantasy and broke a tradition for themselves by holding the dance away from school. The class sponsored a PTA assembly, several drives, and the Kuder Preference Panels, in additi-onto a spring dance. The So lwmoreA P A were welcomed by the Girls' League: their parents were welcomed by the PTA: the student officers welcomed them to all their meetings: and in the midst of it all the underclassmen presented their own talent show, with the best talent appearing in an assembly before the school. followed the upperclass lead by calling their fall

The Student 14AAem6l q is the other half of government here at the Hilltop. This group, comprised of the homeroom presidents and presided over by the ASB vice-president, meets after school once in a while to consider such vital issues as what color to paint the Hilltop's trash cans. But really, it is a vital organ in our democratic student govern- ment, the constitution says so. The Chou' was a I00 voice organization this year, including high school and junior college students. The group represented the Castle well in concerts, contests, and music 'Festivals throughout the year. During the Christmas and Easter seasons part or all of the choir sang alm-ost every clay for various organizations in the community. Members wore the new satin stoles given them by the PTA.
